H. Gregory Walker, Jr. (“Greg”) is an estate-planning attorney in Alexandria, LA. As founder of the Walker Law Group, LLC , the life-long resident of central Louisiana leads a practice dedicated to building and protecting families, as well as showing people how to leave a legacy for loved ones. When working with clients, Greg uses an educational approach so all individuals involved understand every available option for reaching their goals.
Greg devotes his practice to estate and Medicaid planning, trust creation, elder law, VA benefits and asset protection law. In addition to lecturing at educational seminars on estate and medical planning, he provides community members with tips on avoiding future estate hassles and protecting assets during his weekly radio program on KSYL 970AM.
Education: Greg received a bachelor’s of science degree from Louisiana State University and graduated in 1976 from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans. He was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar on October 1, 1976. Greg is also a graduate of the Tulane University Metropolitan Leadership Studies program.
Board Certification: Greg received certification by Louisiana State Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in Estate Planning and Administration.
Court Admissions: Greg is admitted to practice in Louisiana Supreme Court; the Fifth Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals; and the Federal District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana, as well as the Bankruptcy Courts located therein.
Professional Affiliations: In addition to being a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Greg is active in the community and has been involved with the following organizations: the St. Thomas Moore Law Club, the Loyola Law Alumni Association, the Bienville Club of New Orleans, the Rehabilitation Center of Alexandria (Board of Directors), the Alexandria Lions Club (Board of Directors), the Alexandria YMCA (Board of Directors), the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce (Vice Chairman for Military Affairs), the Sierra Club of Alexandria (Vice President), the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation, the Louisiana Lions League for Crippled Children, the Finance Oversight Committee for the Catholic Diocese of Alexandria, and Our Lady’s Manor (Board of Directors), which is a senior housing facility sponsored by Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church.
Greg is also a current member of the AARP Legal Services Network, and serves on the Rapides Parish Library Board and the Central Louisiana Health Services Board. He has also served as an Assistant City Attorney and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Academy of VA Pension Planners.
Family & Interests: In addition to practicing law, Greg enjoys duck hunting with his son, Gregory, and champion Labrador Retriever, Deke. He currently serves in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
